When You Call Me, I Will Come – Death Poems

Be the journey
Far or near
When you call
I will come to you
Child of mine

I have heard your call
Lying in a coma
Ravaged by illness
Yet you reach out
To hold my hand

And take it I will
To never let go
In this life
Or the next

For a mother’s tears
Will sanctify the spot
Making it holy
For the transition
(Poem by Paul Rainwater)
